An Ensembles concert provides an intimate connection between musician and audience. Hear the individual talents that make up the Orchestra. Experience the passion and personality of the performers. And see how a small setting can make for a huge musical event. The 34th season of the New York Philharmonic Ensembles series — chamber concerts showcasing Musicians from the Orchestra performing classical masterpieces and modern compositions in an intimate setting — will begin on Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Merkin Concert Hall. The opening concert will include Kevin Puts’s Credo; Schulhoff’s Concertino for Flute, Viola, and Double Bass; Bizet’s Carmen Suite for Five Cellos, in an arrangement by W. Thomas-Mifune; and Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 44, No. 3.
